Job Summary

The Guest Assistant is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of front desk services, including reception, cashiering, telephone, guest relations, and concierge. This role involves upselling and cross-selling hotel services (such as rooms, tours, dining, and spa) to maximize revenue while creating memorable experiences for guests. As the first point of contact, the Guest Assistant plays a crucial role in projecting the hotel’s professionalism and quality image, significantly influencing the guest’s first impression and overall perception of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Know hotel services, amenities, and promotions.
  • Stay updated on local attractions and events.
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel services and room details.
  • Coordinate with other departments for guest requests.
  • Keep the workspace neat and tidy and ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Greet and welcome guests warmly and assist guests to make their stay comfortable.
  • Prepare for daily guest arrivals and departures.
  • Ensure VIP and special guest needs are met.
  • Use hotel systems to update guest profiles.
  • Be flexible with shift changes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience with a boutique hotel or 4/5 stars hotel as a receptionist, guest relation, or a similar role
  • Holds a certificate of vocational training in hotel reception skills is an advantage
  • Passion for service excellence
  • Possess interpersonal skills, communication skills, customer service skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to upsell and cross-sales
  • Strong attention to detail.
