Job Description
- Develop comprehensive financial plans and forecasts in alignment with the hospital’s strategic objectives.
- Analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
- Conduct regular financial assessments and risk analyses to support decision-making processes.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor budget adherence throughout the fiscal year.
- Develop strategic cost control measures and efficiency initiatives to maximize financial resources.
- Review and approve expenditures, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and financial policies.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: - Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, management, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to address any audit findings or concerns.
Cash Flow Management: - Manage cash flow effectively to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
- Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models to optimize liquidity and mitigate financial risks.
- Monitor banking activities and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
Strategic Financial Leadership: - Provide strategic guidance and financial insights to support decision-making at the executive level.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions to support business growth and expansion.
Team Leadership and Development: - Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to enhance team effectiveness.
- Promote a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability within the finance department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or certified accountant qualification preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 7-10 years) in financial management of health facilities in lower and mid-income countries, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial modeling, and budgeting techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving results.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in hospital management systems, financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in English; and Chinese is a plus.
